Unlike timber, BONGYWOOD composite decking never need to be stained, oiled or painted. It doesn’t split, warp and is also resistant to termites. Kind to be bare feet, it won’t splinter and is slip resistant. Being made from 95% recycled materials makes, it is an eco-friendly alternative to wood.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”What’s the difference between Bongywood hollow and solid core boards?”]Bongywood solid board looks more like lumber. Some homeowners prefer solid composite decking because they look more like the real lumber traditionally used for decking. Their deck board ends are more authentic looking. And solid boards, because of their denser construction, are particularly strong. So, if you want your deck to look like solid wood with high stability, you might prefer solid composite boards.
Bongywood hollow board is much lighter than the same size solid board. This makes them easier to work with. Building your own deck is a labor-intensive process. So, If you want to work with lighter-weight materials, you could benefit from hollow boards, which weigh considerably less than their solid counterparts. You might have an easier time transporting and positioning the boards, as well.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”What’s the difference between Bongywood grooved decking and un-grooved decking?”]Bongywod grooved decking boards feature a notch or channel down the edges and are installed with hidden deck fasteners instead of visible nails.
Bongywood un-grooved decking boards (also called square-edge boards) are solid on all sides. They are installed with nails drilled into the top of the board.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Is recycled composite decking recyclable?”]Be sure, composite decking is recycled and totally green protection products. Due to each factory has a different formula of their wood plastic composite materials, our factory can only recycle our own produced composited decking, we won’t recycle others because the different formula will affect the quality of our products. Technical
[/ultimate_heading][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”What the weather temperature is suitable to use our composite materials?”]It’s from -40°c to 60°c.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Does Bongwyod composite material expand and contract?”]All composite materials will expand and contract with the changing temperature. It will expand during the hotter season and contract during the colder times. This expansion and contraction are a natural characteristic.
The rate of expansion and contraction is depended on the difference between the temperature during installation and your local area’s maximum temperature. Correct board spacing is essential to ensure adequate space for normal expansion and contraction. Depending on the weather and temperature conditions on installation day, the amount of normal expansion and contraction of the boards will vary.
In general, allow 3/16 inch to 1/4-inch gaps between boards to allow for expansion and contraction as well as to let dirt and water flow away naturally.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Will color fade because of exposure to the sun?”]For BONGYWOOD traditional composite products, composite products will fade a little after it is exposed to the sun and undergoes the weather. The anti-UV additives are added to reduce the fading and it will be much suitable for outdoor application. During the first 3 months, the color may fade a little with an approximated percentage of 5% to 10%, this will not affect the overall effect. After that, the color will stay in a stable level through the lifetime of the product.
For BONGYWOOD capped composite decking has protective shell technology which provides far superior fade and stain resistance, and in turn will not fade whatsoever.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Does Bongywood WPC decking get hotter than wooden decking under the sun?”]On a hot day with a blazing sun, nearly any outdoor materials’ surface will get uncomfortably hot. Lighter colored boards tend to be slightly cooler than darked composite decking boards. In extensive studies, it has been found that the color of the decking boards, regardless if it’s made of wood-plastic composite or wood is the most significant factor in the “heat retention” of the board. In these studies, pressure-treated wood stained the same color as ours are actually hotter than composite decking boards in the same test conditions.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Are Bongywood composite decking resistant to staining?”]Bongywood traditional composite decking board is uncapped, meaning is not fully resistant to spot stains. If spillage or stain occurs, we recommend treating immediately with absorbent cloths, following up with a general clean with warm and soapy water.
Bongywood capped composite decking board is capped in a polymer shell that forms a protective shield around the core. This provides excellent stain resistance and an easy-clean surface.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][ultimate_heading]
Installation
[/ultimate_heading][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Can I install the decking immediately when received the products?”]When received your WPC decking boards, we recommend you allow them several days to adjust to your local temperature and conditions before starting working. We do not recommend installing your deck in cold weather.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Does WPC product need the good ventilation and drainage?”]Yes, like timber, it’s important to provide adequate ventilation and drainage to ensure WPC decking is able to dry out after being wet. Lack of ventilation and drainage can cause the products to swell over time. Should carefully check the installation guide before installation.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Do I need special equipment or tools to install Bongywood composite decking?”]You don’t need special tools to install composite decking, using the same tools you would use to install the timber decking. You need standard woodworking tools for cutting and building. Since composite decking materials cut just like wood, you can use a circular saw or a miter saw for installation. This type of decking also accepts nails and screws like real wood.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Can composite decking be installed to both timber and metal framing systems?”]Yes! Bongywood WPC decking can be installed on our WPC joist, and it is possible to install our board onto timber or metal subframe, customers can choice what you want. The clip fastener is used on all systems but the screw is different. After Care
[/ultimate_heading][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”How do I maintain/clean Bongywood WPC decking?”]All exterior building materials require cleaning and Bongywood composite decking is no different. To maintain the beauty and clean of your Bongywood decking, a little care and cleaning goes a long way. We recommend a semi-annual cleaning with a composite deck cleaner, soap and water cleaning or a gentle pressure washing will do the trick. Using a pressure washer (maximum 1200 psi) is an effective way of cleaning any surface dirt and debris from the deck boards, applying the spray a minimum of 30cm from the deck surface will ensure this process doesn’t damage the boards.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Do Bongywood WPC products need painting or staining? “]Bongywood composite products are designed to be a low-maintenance alternative to wood decking. As the difference with the wood, Bongywood composite products delivers its own line of vibrant colors that do not need to be stained or painted.[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_toggle title=”Can Bongywood deck boards be sanded?”]For Bongwood traditional composite decking, we recommend lightly sanding in order to remove stubborn, deep-set stains. Apply a 6-grit sandpaper to the direction of the grain of the board, lightly applying pressure in the affected area. As a result of the sanding, the affected area will initially appear a lighter color tone. Rest assured this will blend-in with the coloration of the board over time as the board is exposed to UV rays.
But we do not advise that you sand Bongywood capped composite deck.
